Downtown Las Vegas neighbors are unhappy about Plaza's closure

Downtown Las Vegas casino operators did not rejoice in the news that the Plaza will close its 1,037 hotel rooms. "We're all competitors, but we all root for each other to succeed," said Mike Nolan, general manager of El Cortez. "Losing rooms isn't good for anybody downtown." The Plaza plans to remodel its rooms and reopen next year.
