Pom sues FTC over health claims rule

Pomegranate juice company Pom Wonderful is suing the Federal Trade Commission over what it says are unconstitutional restrictions on its First Amendment right to free speech contained in a rule that requires marketers to seek the approval of the Food and Drug Administration before making health claims for consumer products. Neither Pom nor the FTC commented on the suit, which was filed Monday.
