Shareholders approve United-Continental merger

Shareholders of UAL and Continental Airlines have voted to approve a merger between United and Continental. The $3.2 billion deal will create the world's biggest airline carrier by passenger traffic. "We are grateful for our stockholders' strong vote of confidence in this merger," said Jeff Smisek, Continental's chairman, president and CEO.
