First responder net cleared first hurdle at GOP convention

A 4G network designed to deal with public safety emergencies apparently passed its first test at the Republican National Convention last month in Florida after the Federal Communications issued a special waiver for its operation, local authorities said. "This has been a real eye-opener for what the future holds," said Sgt. Dale Moushon, who runs the St. Petersburg Police Department's intelligence unit.
