German official backs delay of EU emissions plan

A German official met with Airbus executives at the Berlin air show, and said he would back a delay of the European Union's emissions-trading scheme. "I am in favor of a suspension until the autumn of 2013," said Peter Hintze, who is in charge of aerospace policy for Germany. "That would buy some time from April until September." Airbus also met with officials from other EU nations at the air show.
