Healthy diet may curb type 2 diabetes in GDM patients

A study in the Archives of Internal Medicine revealed that women who had gestational diabetes during pregnancy were at an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. However, following a healthy diet -- such as increasing vegetable consumption, moderating alcohol intake and eating less red meat -- may help curb the risk of type 2 diabetes, the study found.
