Amedisys uses data analysis to reduce HF readmissions

Home health and hospice care provider Amedisys uses data analysis to guide patient care and reduce hospital readmissions. CEO Bill Borne said while fluid buildup and weight gain are commonly accepted readmission warning signals in heart failure patients, its data showed a better indicator was jugular venous distension, when a patient's neck veins are swollen when they sit up.
