"Bertha" to resume tunnelling on Seattle waterfront road project

Tunnel-boring machine Bertha will resume digging the State Route 99 tunnel under Seattle after being idled because of a labor dispute. The International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 19 said it was told its members would get jobs moving the excavated dirt, but that work was awarded to others. However, the union has agreed to stop picketing so work can continue. Gov. Jay Inslee says he will bring the parties together in hopes of finding "a creative solution."
