BRAIN researchers to concentrate on connections

NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins said he will implement an advisory group's suggestion that researchers working on the BRAIN Initiative first study how the brain's systems and circuits interact. The NIH will allot $40 million in 2014 for the project. The National Science Foundation and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, along with private research foundations, will also fund research.
