Cancer deaths have dropped, but more than 1.6M diagnoses are expected

The number of cancer survivors in the U.S. rose from 3 million in 1971 to 13.7 million in 2012, but more than 1.6 million people, most of whom will be age 55 or older, are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in 2013, according to a report from the American Association for Cancer Research.
