A push for legislation for universal consumer protection against tracking may get a boost as the Digital Advertising Alliance pulls out of the tracking protection working group of the World Wide Web Consortium, Katy Bachman writes. DAA Executive Director Lou Mastria wrote, "It has become clear that this W3C effort will not foster the development of a workable solution."
