FDA rules for e-cigarettes, cigars sought by House Democrats

A group of House Democrats sent a letter on Monday to the FDA asking it to issue new regulations for electronic cigarettes and cigars. "Manufacturers of e-cigarettes are taking advantage of this regulatory loophole to target children," wrote Reps. John Dingell, D-Mich., Frank Pallone Jr., D-N.J., Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and Diana DeGette, D-Colo. "As a result, some e-cigarette makers are producing products with kid-friendly flavors such as 'Cherry Crush' and 'Cookies & Cream Milkshake.' "
