ICAO to hold meeting on global airline emissions this month

The International Civil Aviation Organization will meet in Montreal later this month to hammer out an agreement on global airline emissions. Airlines for America Vice President for Environmental Affairs Nancy Young said there has been progress towards a solution. If ICAO does not come to agreement, the European Union could include foreign airlines in its emissions-trading scheme. A4A estimates the EU ETS scheme could cost U.S. carriers $3.1 billion in taxes.
