Judge determines bondholders' case against Richmond, Calif., is premature

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer in San Francisco determined that the lawsuit brought by bondholders, including BlackRock and Pacific Investment Management, against the city of Richmond, Calif., was premature. The decision in the case, which sought to block Richmond from using eminent domain to seize mortgage loans, means that bondholders will have to file a new lawsuit if and when Richmond moves forward with its plan.
