Lawmakers outline principles for online sales tax bill

U.S. House members are expected to follow seven principles when they craft an online sales tax bill, including keeping the system from becoming burdensome on small businesses and ensuring that laws requiring online retailers to collect the same sales tax as traditional merchants don't result in new taxes. Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Bob Goodlatte is expected to release a full list of the principles Wednesday.
