NPD: Fast-casual, breakfast fuel rise in Q2 traffic

Restaurant traffic rose 1% in the second quarter, and sales were up 3% thanks to higher average checks, according to NPD Group. Fast-casual eateries and quickservice breakfast menus largely fueled the increase in traffic, with increases of 8% and 3% respectively, while quickservice business at lunch and dinner was flat, the report found.
