Quality indicators, care pathway may help treat teen depression

Researchers from the New York University School of Medicine conducted a review of clinical practice guidelines and research literature on the management of teenage depression to develop a care pathway and determine quality indicators for treatment. Screening, adequacy of psychotherapy and antidepressant treatment, symptom reassessment, and remission were among the 11 measure concepts for which quality indicators were created, according to the report published in the journal Pediatrics.
