Significant upgrades to shared Canada-U.S. infrastructure are underway. These include informational and physical elements of Beyond the Border, such as a common customs perimeter and improved border plazas; a new Detroit-Windsor bridge for 2020; upgrades to the Port of Churchill and to oil-by-rail terminals in Western Canada; and expansion of renewable electricity exports from Eastern Canada.
