Twitter looks to increase sophistication of its ad units

Twitter is looking to expand its advertising business with new formats aimed at boosting revenue ahead of its initial public offering, Vindu Goel writes. Twitter recently acquired MoPub, an ad-auction service that places ads in mobile applications. Twitter also is looking to expand its Amplify service, which posts sponsored television clips such as sports highlights to the service.
