USDA yet to decide on biotech alfalfa commingling claim

The Department of Agriculture said it has yet to decide whether to take actions in the case of a Washington state farmer who said Monsanto's biotech trait commingled with his alfalfa crop. "We're still in discussion with the Washington State Department of Agriculture to determine what if any actions are warranted, what our next steps will be," said Ed Curlett of the USDA. Roundup Ready alfalfa is cleared for planting, and it's possible no action will be taken, Curlett said.
