Wash. state provider unveils urgent care telemedicine program

Franciscan Health System in Tacoma, Wash., has partnered with telemedicine firm Carena to provide round-the-clock telehealth care service to patients in the system's coverage area. The urgent care virtual consultations, which will be done via phone or video chat on mobile devices or PCs, will cost patients $35 per visit. Carena's doctors can also prescribe medications to patients who use the service.
