What changes are coming at community colleges?

There will be fewer physical community-college campuses within the next 20 years, says Debbie L. Sydow, co-author of a recent book on the topic. Instead, technology will be used to create customized learning experiences and measure student success, Sydow suggests in this interview. "If current trends hold, only a select few colleges and universities will have the luxury of maintaining current operating models in decades to come, and even those elite institutions will likely be transformed by nascent demographic, social, and economic trends," she predicts.
