New Jersey rolls out new education plan

The plan would hold teachers more accountable and would raise the minimum passing score for teacher certification exams and develop standards for teacher preparation courses in the state's colleges. While lawmakers and administrators came out in support of the plan, the New Jersey Education Association criticized it for not addressing such issues as the teacher shortage or school overcrowding.
