Diabetic moms could have babies with heart trouble

Researchers in England found nearly 4% of children born to diabetic mothers had congenital heart problems, compared with less than 1% of infants of mothers without the disease. The report encouraged pregnant diabetics to undergo fetal monitoring so any potential problems could be detected early in the pregnancy.
