Carnival's decision to cut air commissions disappoints ASTA

ASTA responded to Carnival Corp.'s recent announcement that it will cut travel agents' commissions on the airfare portion of cruise bookings by saying that it may create a disincentive for agents to book Carnival's air-cruise packages. "Travel agents are the rock that anchors the cruise industry's ability to move its rapidly expanding cruise product in economic conditions that are fluctuating frequently and widely," ASTA's statement said.
