Sensor shows promise in detecting early-stage cancer

A team of graduate students has developed an inexpensive tiny acoustic sensor that can detect mesothelin, a molecule linked to various cancers, in blood samples. Researchers said the work is in the early stages but they hope the device can be used in clinical laboratories to spot early-stage cancer.
