FDA changes guidelines for ultrasound vendors

The FDA has modified its guidance for makers of diagnostic ultrasound systems and transducers that are seeking marketing clearance. Manufacturers do not have to submit a 510(k) Special Report if their "Design History File" contains up-to-date acoustic output measurements and labeling records, according to the guidance.
