Commercial real estate needed some good news and REITs delivered

The REIT rebound has given some welcome relief to investors in commercial real estate. On the average, share prices dropped 15% in 2007, then went on to plummet 40% in 2008. But now those losses have been largely reversed. Counting from the low point in March, the Morgan Stanley Index of REIT stocks has risen 108%.
