Health declines seen among spouses of cancer patients

A Swedish study found the overall rate of health care usage for spouses of cancer patients increased in the two years after the diagnosis, especially if it was colon or lung cancer. Researchers said the rates of psychiatric disorders increased among spouses as did physical problems such as cardiovascular disease or musculoskeletal conditions.
