Japan Airlines becomes focus of airline alliances

American Airlines, British Airways and Qantas are reaching out to their struggling OneWorld Alliance partner Japan Airlines to keep JAL from moving to the SkyTeam alliance. AA, BA and Qantas executives presented their joint offer to help with financing issues at a spur-of-the-moment visit to JAL.
