Turkey's foreign minister hints at Patriot buy in TV interview

Turkey says it will spend almost $1 billion on defending against long-range missiles, though Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu says the move is not targeted specifically at Iran. "Turkey's purchase of Patriot (missiles) has nothing to do with Iran or directly with any other country," Davutoglu said in a TV interview, naming the Patriot system built by Raytheon and Lockheed Martin even though Ankara has invited other companies from China, Russia and the U.S. to present proposals.
