DOJ gains support from 7 states in fighting AT&T bid

The Justice Department last week amended its antitrust suit against AT&T's bid for T-Mobile USA to include objections from attorneys general in seven states, including three states with Republican AGs. The states were New York, Washington, California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Ohio and Pennsylvania. "At the same time, we appreciate that 11 state attorneys general and hundreds of other local, state and federal officials are publicly supportive of our merger," AT&T said in a statement, noting that it is typical for states to weigh in on such matters.
