Kinect sales falter in Japan; Microsoft looks to Windows 8 launch

Faced with tough competition in the home market of Nintendo and Sony, Microsoft hasn't met expectations for sales of its Kinect gesture-recognition module in Japan. Takashi Sensui, general manager of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft Japan, maintains that the profiles of the Xbox 360 game console and Kinect should be higher when Microsoft launches the Windows 8 operating system.
