Low-GI, high-fiber diets have similar effect after gestational diabetes

Data on 99 pregnant women with gestational diabetes show that those who went on a low-glycemic index diet attained better glucose levels than those who had a high-fiber diet. However, researchers found no significant difference in mean birth weight, birth-weight centile and pregnancy weight gain among participants. The findings appear in Diabetes Care.
