A+E Networks taps Rentrak for viewer, product sales data

A+E Networks is the latest cable firm to strike a deal with Rentrak's TV Essentials, which provides viewer information from set-top boxes and product sales data from other sources. A+E joins Scripps Networks, The Weather Company and Pivot as cable industry clients of the service. The Rentrak technology "will enable our sales teams to demonstrate our networks' audience value far beyond the traditional demographic measures," said Mel Berning, A+E Networks' president of ad sales.
