Calif. ports register cargo volume growth in August YoY

The volume of 20-foot-equivalent units at the California ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach rose 7.2% in August year-on-year. The Los Angeles port handled more than 709,000 containers, up 0.4% versus the year-ago level, and container volume at the Long Beach port climbed 16%. Meanwhile, TEU volume at the Port of Charleston, S.C., increased 5.6% last month compared with the same time last year.
