Cessna to develop light attack jet

Cessna parent Textron announced it has partnered with AirLand Enterprises, a small startup, to develop the Scorpion, a new light attack jet. The aircraft is supposed to be inexpensive to build and operate with a surveillance platform and strike capability. Many in the industry are asking why the company is spending money on the development of such an aircraft, when unmanned aerial vehicles are already serving that purpose.
