China home-price gains accelerate

Housing prices rose in 66 out of 70 Chinese cities month-on-month in August, up from 62 in July, with growth of up to 20% year-on-year in some first-tier cities. The property surge prompted the government to introduce measures to rein in the market in March, but continued gains suggest stronger medicine might be needed.
