CHSRA confirms delay in construction of Calif.'s $69B HSR project

The start of construction on the $69 billion high-speed rail project in California will be delayed for another "few months," according to the California High-Speed Rail Authority. However, the project remains on schedule as pre-construction work -- including soil analysis, land inspections and completion of designs -- started last month, CHSRA said. The state needs to "buy more land and equipment, finish designs and hire workers," before construction can begin, and two lawsuits are still going through the courts.
