DARPA working on reusable, cost-effective space plane

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is at work on a new space plane that could put as much as 4,000 pounds into orbit for about $5 million a launch, writes Leonard David. Other goals for the reusable XS-1 include flying 10 times in 10 days, as well as achieving Mach 10, David notes.
