Fed helps boost markets by continuing bond-buying program

Wall Street rallied to all-time highs Wednesday after the Federal Reserve surprised investors by saying it will continue its bond-buying stimulus program at its current rate of $85 billion a month. The Federal Open Market Committee said it "decided to await more evidence that progress will be sustained before adjusting the pace of its purchases."
