Gap shows IT innovation isn't limited to tech

Non-tech companies with roots in the Bay Area including Gap are drawing on Silicon Valley's lessons to improve their information technology. The companies are upgrading IT infrastructures and adopting cultural aspects of tech firms. "What we're trying to do is get to a point where we can deliver new capabilities into our stores not every year, but every few weeks," Gap CIO Tom Keiser said.
