Reflux disorder more common among pulmonary disease patients, data show

An Australian study found 37% of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and 40% of those with bronchiectasis had gastroesophageal reflux disease, compared with 18% of people who did not have a lung disease. Researchers said the data showed GERD was present in patients with mild or moderate COPD and bronchiectasis and not just in those with advanced disease.
