Dow AgroSciences hires biotech startup to seek better crops

Dow AgroSciences is seeking a new approach to creating biotech crops and Chlorogen, a St. Louis startup, has patented a way of adding genes carrying desirable traits to the chloroplasts of plants, rather than into a cell's nucleus. Chlorogen's officials say the process produces plants with a higher level of the transferred trait and is also being used in other crop research projects.
