Hookworms may reduce symptoms of Crohn's, allergies

Infecting patients with hookworms could help to control Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis and asthma, according to new research. The hookworms, which produce proteins to suppress the immune system, also could be used in drug development for these conditions.
