New Hampshire launches online charter for high schoolers

The Virtual Learning Academy charter will start offering part-time students classes in January and begin accepting full-time students for September 2008. "It's a double-edged sword," said Deb Wilmarth, a site coordinator for virtual learning at Salem High School. "Sometimes a course doesn't fit into a student's schedule ... or the student might have health issues ... [but] that child misses out on the high school social experience that, in itself, is so valuable."
