N.Y. equity firm buys Houston's Castro Cheese

Castro Cheese Co. announced on Monday the sale of its Houston-based company to Palladium Equity Partners. Palladium, a firm that focuses on acquiring other Hispanic companies, intends to expand the La Vaquita cheese and dairy product maker beyond the Texas market. "We believe that market will continue to grow, driven by the continued growth of the Hispanic population," said J. Robert Hall, Palladium's operating executive.
