Retailers set for strong gift-card sales

Holiday gift-card sales will jump 25% to a record $35 billion in 2007, a study released by Archstone Consulting predicts. Retailers are pushing the rapidly growing gift-card market, which is in part fueled by increased cultural acceptance, and selling more cards outside their own locations and installing sophisticated technology to process the cards.
