Lead chromate in artificial turf raises some concerns

Makers of artificial turf say their product is safe, and recent research agrees. Nevertheless, California has initiated suit against some turf makers, alleging the labels on the artificial turf products did not disclose that they contained lead chromate for coloring. One of the companies announced last month that it had begun making all its products lead-free.
