Maryland connector might threaten wetlands

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation opposes the cross-county connector in Charles County for its potential damage to the environment. The nonprofit organization alleges the construction in Maryland will destroy more than seven acres of wetlands. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Maryland Department of the Environment are considering whether to proceed with construction or order an environmental-impact study.
